Wombat Berry Vine

November 26, 2017

The very dry winter here on the South Coast of NSW has provided lots of Wombat Berry Vine to harvest. As a stem dies, it changes colour to a pale blond. This is a remarkable vine, with very flexible stems when soaked. I always strip the outer layer off to reveal the blond core. This little bowl was made from handmade cordage with plants from my sister's garden, freesia and ixias. The Wombat Berry Vine was made in to a wreath separately and attached to the coiled form.
